The English Language Proficiency Test (ELP) is a requirement for Professional Pilot and is mandatory for Private Pilot License holders once flying abroad.
The English Language Proficiency Test assesses the level of your command of the English Language in a standardized structure. As per ICAO guidelines, the student assessment is oral. The test is done face to face with a certified assessor and recorded for safety and quality assurance reasons. You must prove that you can understand basic radiotelephony.
You will be evaluated based on your: Pronunciation, Vocabulary, Structure, Fluency, Comprehension, and Interaction. ELP results and the certificate are issued instantly.
Types of Certificates
There are six levels. You must achieve at least Level 4 to pass the exam.
- Level 4:
Valid for 4 years
- Level 5:
Valid for 6 years
- Level 6
Close to C2
Valid for a lifetime
